Haikyu Gets Short New Anime Video by Production I.G for AQUARIUS Commercial

HaiKyu got a short new anime video for a new AQUARIUS commercial, with Production I.G handling the animation. Besides Hinata Shoyo from HaiKyuthe ad also features the Japanese basketball player Ren Yoshizawa and the Japanese skateboarder Coco Yoshizawa.

AQUARIUS is a popular sports drink brand owned by The Coca-Cola Company, widely available in Japan and many other countries. You can watch the new video below.

New AQUARIUS Commercial Featuring Short Haikyu Anime Video by Production I.G

Background & Additional Information

Haruichi Furudate is the creator of the original HaiKyu manga (stylized as Haikyuu !!), which was serialized in Weekly Shonen Jump from 2012 to 2020. The series concluded with a total of 405 chapters, collected into 45 volumes. The manga is licensed by Viz Media in English.

The anime adaptation, produced by Production I.G., began airing in 2014. The second season followed in Fall 2015 through Winter 2016, while Season 3 aired in Fall 2016, covering Karasuno’s match against Shiratorizawa. Season 4, titled Haikyu: To the Topwas released in two cours, airing in Winter 2020 and Fall 2020.

Besides the anime, the franchise also has multiple OVAs, spin-offs, stage plays, and video games. The first movie for the franchise, Haikyu: The Dumpster Battledebuted in theaters early last year before becoming available for streaming on Netflix and Crunchyroll on October 31, 2024. The second movie, Haikyu the Movie: VS The Little Giantrecently confirmed production with a teaser visual and trailer.

Notably, the official website removed the “Final” wording from the movie’s branding.

A new special anime, Haikyu: Where Monsters Gowhich will cover the the quarterfinal match between Fukurodani Academy and Mujinazaka High, was also announced.
