JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure spin-off, Thus Spoke Kishibe Rohan: At a Confessionallive-action movie revealed the main visual and trailer. At a Confessional was the very first chapter of the spin-off manga, and it was described as the “most highly requested episode for adaptation” in the movie’s original announcement.

The chapter was previously adapted into an anime as the first episode of the Thus spoke kishibe rohan 4-episode series.

The movie is also described as the first-ever Japanese movie shot entirely in Venice, Italy, where the story will take place. It will premiere in Japan on May 23, 2025. The story is described:
The eccentric manga artist Kishibe Rohan, who possesses a unique supernatural ability, finds himself on a research trip in Venice, Italy. While inside a church confessional booth, he listens to the confession of a mysterious man. What unfolds is a terrifying event from 25 years ago…

The movie will be directed by Kazutaka Watanabe, who previously also directed the two episodes of the Thus spoke kishibe rohan TV mini series and the Rohan at the Louvre (2023) movie. Issei Takahashi and Marie Iitoyo are returning as Rohan Kishibe and Kyoka Izumi. The full main staff includes:

Thus spoke kishibe rohan is a spin-off of JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: Diamond Is Unbreakablethe fourth part of the manga by Hirohiko Araki. It follows Kishibe Rohan, the manga artist with the ability “Heaven’s Door.”

The series began as one-shot stories, with At a Confessional debuting in 1997. It later got OVA adaptations (2017–2020) by David Production and a live-action TV drama (2020–2022) which starred Issei Takahashi.
