Rent a Girlfriend Season 4 revealed a new visual on Wednesday, showing Ruka Sarashina wearing beach attire ahead of the Hawaii Trip arc. The anime will premiere this July and will run across two split cours. The series previously unveiled date visuals for Chizuru and Mami.

Additionally, Nao Toyama, the voice actress of Ruka commented on the upcoming season:
One problem ends, and another begins!! It’s nonstop chaos and crisis after crisis! Everyone’s hanging on by a thread! There’s no way this trip ends peacefully…How are they going to make it through this mess? Wait, Rent-A-Girlfriend is a romantic comedy, right? Or was it a suspense thriller…?
As the story goes on, you just can’t take your eyes off the Rent-A-Girlfriend world! This season’s Hawaii arc was so intense, that I couldn’t wait to see what would happen next. Kazuomi Koga will direct the new season, taking over from Shin’ya Une. Studio TMS Entertainment returns to animate Season 4 and the main cast will reprise their roles.

The story is based on a manga written and illustrated by Reiji Miyajima. It has been serialized in Kodansha’s Weekly Shonen Magazine since July 2017. Kodansha USA publishes the manga in English, while Crunchyroll streams the anime. The latter describes the story:
Kinoshita Kazuya is a 20-year-old failure of a college student. He managed to kiss his girlfriend once, but was dumped after a month. “Ugh… Damn it. I never want to go through that again.”

Completely spiteful, Kazuya uses a certain method to date a girl. He goes to their meeting place and suddenly hears, “You’re Kazuya-kun, right?” A beautiful girl brushing her long, black hair behind her ear was there, smiling at him. Her name was Mizuhara Chizuru. Something real is born after just a single rental! A reckless rom-com filled with love and excitement is about to begin!
