Manufacturer Shoei announced several upcoming limited-edition designs for its Z-8 motorcycle helmets line, with fans of iconic IPs like Hatsune Miku and Gundam in for a treat. Of the pair, the first models set to drop are the Mobile Suit Gundam THE ORIGIN helmets for the mobile suits RX-78-02, MS-06C-6 Zaku II, and Char’s MS-06S Zaku II in July 2025. Per Shoei, its upcoming motorcycle helmets (sized XS/S/M/L/XL/XXL) include:

• The “Z-8 RX-78-02 Gundam” collaboration model with Mobile Suit Gundam THE ORIGIN (OVA version) – Scheduled to be released in July 2025 for a limited time. *Limited to orders until the end of November 2025.
• The collaboration model “Z-8 MS-06C-6 Zaku II” with Mobile Suit Gundam THE ORIGIN (OVA version) – Scheduled to be released in July 2025 for a limited time. *Limited to orders until the end of November 2025.
• The collaboration model “Z-8 MS-06S Char’s Zaku II” with Mobile Suit Gundam THE ORIGIN (OVA version) – Scheduled to be released in July 2025 for a limited time. *Limited to orders until the end of November 2025.
• The collaboration model “Z-8 MS-05 Zaku I” with Mobile Suit Gundam THE ORIGIN (OVA version) – Scheduled to be released in September 2025 for a limited time. *Limited to orders until the end of November 2025.
• The collaboration model with Mobile Suit Gundam THE ORIGIN (OVA version), “Z-8 MS-06R-1A High Mobility Zaku II (Black Tri-Stars Specification)” – Scheduled to be released in September 2025 for a limited time. *Limited to orders until the end of November 2025.
• The collaboration model “Z-8 MS-04 Bug (Ramba Ral specification)” with Mobile Suit Gundam THE ORIGIN (OVA version) – Scheduled to be released in September 2025 for a limited time. *Limited to orders until the end of November 2025.
• The collaboration model with “Hatsune Miku”, “Z-8 Hatsune Miku” – Scheduled to be released in August 2025 for a limited time. *Limited to orders until the end of September 2025.

While fans face a serious dilemma on whether to opt for the Gundam or Hatsune Miku motorcycle helmet, the two franchises have collaborated multiple times previously. Gundam‘s official website announced last month that Hatsune Miku and Gundam figure pre-orders will begin in 2025.
